This article explains the commission fee for individual sellers.
Only pay when you sell
There are no upfront or monthly fees to sell on Vinterior as an individual seller; we only charge a 24% (including VAT) when you sell. This is charged on the item price.
What is the VAT?
To align with UK law, we have to charge VAT on our commission. This is 20% of the commission fee charged to the seller. For example, if you have a commission fee of £40, we would collect £8 VAT.
Professional Seller Commission
If you qualify as a professional seller, a tiered commission structure applies to the item price only: 17% is charged on the portion of the item price up to £2,500, and 10% on any amount above £2,500. For example, on a £6,000 item, 17% applies to the first £2,500 and 10% to the remaining £3,500. There are no monthly or listing fees, and commission is clearly outlined in your sales receipt. A 2% payment processing fee also applies (capped at £10 per item), and commission and VAT are deducted from your payout.
What is the commission used for?
The commission we gather allows us to continue to invest in the Vinterior platform and ensure we remain the top destination for interior designers and vintage lovers to shop for pre-owned treasures. It also means we can encourage a wide audience to buy and sell preloved furniture and homeware, choosing a better future for the planet.
When you’ll get paid
Payouts to all non-professional sellers will be initiated once the returns window has closed, which is 30 days after delivery confirmation. This helps ensure buyer trust and safety on the platform, while protecting all parties if an issue arises during the returns period. We pay sellers through Stripe Connect, our safe and secure payment method. Learn how to set up an account here.
